About halfway through today's session, here are the top names showing unusual option activity on tradeMONSTER's data systems.
TTM Technologies (TTMI): Options volume 540 percent above average. Investors bought the September 15 calls for $1.45 and the June 15 calls for $0.30, looking for the circuit-board maker to rally. TTMI climbs 6.72 percent to $15.09.
Oceaneering International (OII): Options volume 445 percent above average. Investors buy about 2,000 October 42.50 calls for $1.35 and $1.40, looking for the provider of off-shore energy services to rally. OOI climbs 1.01 percent to $37.12.
Owens Illinois (OI): Options volume 437 percent above average. Investors bought almost 2,400 August 29 calls for $0.75 to $0.85, looking for the glassmaker to rebound from today's selloff. OI drops 9.07 percent to $26.86.
Walter Investment Management (WAC): Options volume 422 percent above average. Some 3,100 September 17 puts were bought, mostly for $0.85, as a trader positions for downside in the mortgage-finance company. WAC falls 0.22 percent to $17.90.
Chicos FAS (CHS): Options volume 348 percent above average. About 5,000 August 15 puts were bought, mostly for $1.40 to $1.50, looking for the retailer to drop. CHS fell 0.42 percent to $14.13.
Rounding out the other busiest names are:
- Finisar (FNSR): Options volume 324 percent above average.
- Temple-Inland (TIN): Options volume 318 percent above average.
- Yuhe International (YUII): Options volume 307 percent above average.
