Top 10 list of unusual option activity

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the top 10 names showing unusual option activity on tradeMONSTER's LiveAction data system.

Intuit (INTU): Option volume 1,440 percent above average. A bullish position in the January calls and puts was adjusted to lower the breakeven point in the shares. INTU rose 0.36 percent to $42.20.

PHLX Australian Dollar (XDA): Option volume 876 percent above average. Investors sold August 100 calls, August 103 calls and August 103.50 calls. XDA fell 0.30 percent to $103.22.

Amphenol (APH): Option volume 707 percent above average. Activity surged in the September 45 puts and the September 50 puts. APH rose 0.91 percent to $46.49.

ProLogis (PLD): Option volume 548 percent above average. More than 2,000 September 40 puts were sold for $12.20. PLD fell 0.40 percent to $27.60.

PetSmart (PETM): Option volume 455 percent above average. Investors bought the January 40 puts and the January 45 calls, looking for volatility to increase with earnings scheduled for next Wednesday afternoon. PETM rose 1.32 percent to $40.99.

  • iShares S&P Midcap 400 Index (IJH): Option volume 453 percent above average.
  • Graftech International (GTI): Option volume 441 percent above average.
  • Sky-Mobi (MOBI): Option volume 429 percent above average.
  • Manulife Financial (MFC): Option volume 408 percent above average.
  • Rockwood Holding (ROC): Option volume 397 percent above average.
