The Unconventional Oil & Gas ETF ( FRAK ) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 122,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 32,000. Shares of FRAK were up about 1.6% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Chesapeake Energy ( CHK ), trading up about 1.2% with over 19.8 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Whiting Petroleum ( WLL ), up about 2% on volume of over 13.8 million shares. Continental Resources ( CLR ) is the component faring the best Thursday, higher by about 5% on the day, while Enerplus Resources Fund ( ERF ) is lagging other components of the Unconventional Oil & Gas ETF, trading lower by about 2.4%.
