Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Verizon Communications ( VZ ), up about 6.8% and shares of Frontier Communications ( FTR ), up about 5.2% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the iShares Transportation Average ETF ( IYT ), down about 3% in Thursday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Thursday were shares of Landstar System ( LSTR ), lower by about 7.1%, and shares of United Parcel Service (UPS), lower by about 4.7% on the day.
