Technology shares were mixed as the regular session started Tuesday.

In technology stocks news, Mentor Graphics ( MENT ) was up marginally after it said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing the U.S. Federal Trade Commission granted early termination, effective immediately, of the applicable waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act for Siemens' pending acquisition of the company.

And, Spark Networks ( LOV ) was up 1% after a former executive said he would not be surprised if Match ( MTCH ) acquires the company, even if the company's stock price drops below $1 per share and its subscriber base decline, but . Aaron Young, former VP of business development and strategic partnerships for Spark, told the New York Times he would not be surprised if Match Group ( MTCH ) acquired Spark in the near future "so they have the No. 1 players - JDate and ChristianMingle - in each of these categories."
