Technology stocks were continuing to advance during Monday trading, with shares of tech companies in the S&P 500 riding a more than 0.8% gain while the Philadelphia semiconductor index ( SOX ) was trading almost 2.1% higher in late trade.
Among technology stocks moving on news today:
+ Digital Power Corp ( DPW ) surged Monday after the diversfied electronics manufacturer today disclosed a secondary offering of nearly 1.1 million shares of its common stock by the Twitchell Fund LLC and another 61,300 shares by Bellridge Capital. The company also sold 150,000 shares to an unidentified investor through a private placement this month.

+ VMWare ( VMW ) rose Monday after analysts at KeyBank today raised their investment recommendation for the company's stock to Overweight from Sector Weight.
- Akoustis Technologies ( AKTS ) declined after it priced a $14.5 mln private placement of 2.6 mln shares of common stock at $5.50 apiece, a 16.0% discount to Friday's closing price. The deal was led by board co-chairman Jerry Neal and included both institutional and accredited investors.
