Technology shares were mainly lower in pre-market trade on Friday.

In technology stocks news, ManTech International ( MANT ), a technology provider for national security applications, said on Friday that it won a five-year contract valued up to $5 billion from the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) to provide advanced, full-scope cyber research and development to support multiple technical projects.

Shares in the company were unchanged at $31 pre-bell. This is within the upper band of the stock's 52 week trading range between $24.90 and $35.23.

And BlackBerry ( BBRY ) shares were 3.0% higher at $8.04 in recent pre-market trade after the company reported a smaller than expected fiscal Q3 loss while its revenue far exceeded expectations.

Shares in the company have traded between $5.96 and $12.63.
