Technology Sector Update for 11/19/2015: UNXL,NLST,JKS
Top Tech Stocks
Technology stocks were continuing to trade mostly higher, with shares of tech companies in the S&P 500 adding nearly 0.9% today.
In company news, UniPixel ( UNXL ) surged Thursday after the touch-screen manufacturer said it received a first-time mass production order from an unidentified Japanese computer manufacturer.
The deal - the company's first with a major computer company - calls on Unipixel to provide its XTouch sensors for a new 10-inch tablet product. The company said its expects to begin delivery later during the current quarter or early during the first three months of 2016 and then extending over the next two to three quarters.
UNXL shares were up more than 45% at $1.41 each, easing from an earlier session high at $1.58 a share.
In other sector news,
(+) NLST, (+30.2%) Inks five year joint development and license agreement with Samsung Electronics to produce a new class of NVDIMM-P memory chips. Deal includes $8 mln cash payment to NLST and $15 mln stake in Samsung Venture Investment Corp.
(-) JKS, (-8.3%) Adjusted Q3 EPS of $1.04 tops consensus by $0.23 per share. Revenue climbs 27% over year-ago levels to $637.6 mln, beating $568 mln Street view. Raises low end of FY15 shipment outlook to new range of 4.2 gigawatts to 4.5 gigawatts
