Technology Sector Update for 09/28/2015: IBM,MIXT,BAS,SUNE

Technology stocks were narrowly paring some of their earlier declines on Monday, with shares of technology companies in the S&P 500 recently sinking almost 1.6% in afternoon trade.

In company news, IBM ( IBM ) fell Monday, with the data management company receiving little apparent help today from saying it plans to expand its enterprise capabilities with cloud-based industry platforms intended to simplify and accelerate client implementation.

The new initiative includes a new, IBM Cloud Business Innovation Center in Bangalore, India, which will allow clients to work side-by-side with IBM consultants, researchers, digital marketing and experience design experts.

IBM shares were down about 1.6% at $143.17 apiece, earlier falling to $142.86 a share.

In other sector news,

(+) MIXT, (+4.3%) Basic Energy Services ( BAS ) renews fleet-management contract along with driver-behavior tools for another five years through 2020.

(-) SUNE, (-17.3%) Completes three solar canopy systems for the City of Fremont, Calif., expected to generate 1.2 megawatts of direct-current electricity.
