Tech Stocks Ahead Today; EarthLink Drops Nearly 7% After Wider-Than-Expected Q2 Loss, Revenue Also Misses

Technology stocks are mostly higher with shares of technology companies in the S&P 500 adding over 0.9%.

In company news, EarthLink ( ELNK ) is down nearly 7% at $5.85 a share after the Internet-access company reported a Q2 net loss of $0.11 per share, wider than the Street view forecasting a $0.04 per share loss.

Revenue declined 7.3% from the same quarter last year to $313.4 million, also trailing the analyst consensus by $1.6 million.

In other sector news,

(+) QUIK, (+2.2%) Posts Q2 net loss of $0.05 per share, a penny better than Wall Street estimates. Revenue climbs 26.0% over year-ago levels to $5.13 million, also exceeding the analyst consensus by around $830,000.

(-) OTEX, (-5.4%) Quarterly revenue climbs 13.6% year over year to $347.3 million in Q4 but trails the Street view by $14.2 million. Net income of $1.43 per share matches estimates.
