The strongest and weakest currencies as NA trader enter fo the day

September 26, 2016. The JPY is the strongest. The GBP is the weakest.

As the NA traders enter for the trading week, the JPY is the strongest while the GBP is the weakest. The USD is mostly lower with the greenback losing ground against all the major currencies with the exception of the GBP.

The GBPJPY is the biggest mover on the day (down -0.78% from Friday's close). "Mr. Yen" Sakakibara said he sees USDJPY slowly moving to 90.00 in 2017. BOJ Kuroda meanwhile was fighting for some support (" we are ready to use every possible policy tool if needed "). Stock markets are weaker with the USD pre open levels showing S&P futures down -8.00 points and Nasdaq futures down -24 points.

The ranges (bottom chart below), shows that in all the major pairs against the USD, the ranges are below the 22-day averages (volatility is low).
