The strongest and weakest currencies as NA enter for the day

November 14, 2016. The USD is the strongest. The JPY is the weakest.

As NA traders enter for the trading day, the USD is the strongest while the JPY is the weakest. The dollar's strength is on the back of the surge in yields. The 30 year bond yield is up 8 basis points, the 10 year is up 9.3 basis points and the 2-year is up 6.7 basis points. Recall the treasury market was closed on Friday due to the Veterans Day holiday.

The JPY and CHF are the weakest. Stocks are up a little pre-US open with the S&P futures up +0.75%.Dow futures are up 40 points. Pres.-elect Trump will meet Japan PM Abe in NY later this week. Spot gold is trading down another $6.20 to $1221.66. Last week, it was pushing above the $1300 level. WTI crude is down -$0.62% or -1.38%.

No economic releases today. ECB Draghi to speak. The speech is expected to start at 9:45 AM ET.
