Oct 24 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index rose at open on Thursday, underpinned by a string of strong corporate earnings and as higher gold prices boosted miners of the precious metal.
* At 9:35 a.m. ET (13:35 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 50.75 points, or 0.31%, at 16,386.68.
