Stocks Poised For Lower Open as Wall Street Braces for Earnings, Trump Press Conference

Stock futures were mixed ahead of Tuesday's open with the Dow and S&P 500 unchanged to only slightly negative, but the Nasdaq Composite looking to set another record high on gains in internet and semiconductor stocks.

Wall Street's mood remains cautious as investors brace for the deluge of fourth quarter corporate earnings that includes year-end results, as well as Wednesday's press conference from President-elect Donald Trump, and confirmation hearings surrounding some of his more prominent cabinet picks.

Coming up after the open is the monthly job openings and labor turnover survey (JOLTS) and wholesale trade data, both of which should show gains from month-ago levels.
