Stocks climbed throughout the day on Tuesday as investors reacted to a barrage of positive earnings reports and sales numbers, including impressive figures from Alibaba and the perpetually-struggling GoPro, as well as President Trump's meeting with Detroit automakers that alluded to reduced taxes and rolled-back environmental regulations.
