Is The Stock Market Open On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day?

The U.S. stock market is closed to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, but exchanges abroad will still be open for trading. The NYSE and Nasdaq will resume trading on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) recommends that the U.S. bond market close on Monday.

The next upcoming market holiday occurs on Presidents Day, which falls on Monday. Feb. 19.
