Spotify (SPOT) Gains As Market Dips: What You Should Know

Spotify (SPOT) closed at $268.74 in the latest trading session, marking a +0.45% move from the prior day. This move outpaced the S&P 500's daily loss of 0.62%. Meanwhile, the Dow lost 0.69%, and the Nasdaq, a tech-heavy index, lost 0.94%.

Heading into today, shares of the music-streaming service operator had gained 0.03% over the past month, lagging the Business Services sector's gain of 2.51% and the S&P 500's gain of 3.51% in that time.

Wall Street will be looking for positivity from SPOT as it approaches its next earnings report date. This is expected to be July 29, 2020. In that report, analysts expect SPOT to post earnings of -$0.49 per share. This would mark a year-over-year decline of 4.26%.
