In early trading on Thursday, shares of E*trade Financial ( ETFC ) topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 4.0%. Year to date, E*trade Financial has lost about 4.4% of its value.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is VF Corp. ( VFC ), trading down 3.1%. VF Corp. is lower by about 9.7% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold ( FCX ), trading down 2.8%, and Skyworks Solutions ( SWKS ), trading up 3.6% on the day.
