In early trading on Friday, shares of Anadarko Petroleum topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 32.3%. Year to date, Anadarko Petroleum registers a 41.2% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is National Oilwell Varco, trading down 5.9%. National Oilwell Varco is showing a gain of 7.4% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Chevron, trading down 5.2%, and Concho Resources, trading up 10.6% on the day.
