In early trading on Wednesday, shares of Apple topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 2.8%. Year to date, Apple registers a 5.4% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is First Solar, trading down 4.8%. First Solar Inc is lower by about 47.4% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Coach, trading down 4.2%, and Viacom, trading up 2.6% on the day.
