Solitario Exploration & Royalty ( XPL ) shares are up 3.3% to $1.55 after the company reached an accord with a unit of Hochschild Mining plc to develop its Pachuca Norte silver and gold project in Central Mexico.
Under the terms of the deal, Minera Hochschild Mexico earns a 51% interest in the project, in one of the richest gold and silver areas in the world, by spending $10 million on exploration over five years. It has committed to an initial 12-month work program of $1.5 million.
XPL shares trade within a 52-week range of $0.97 to $1.92.
