Sheritt Intl Down Nearly 4%, But off Day Low on Q2 Result

Sherritt International Corp (S.TO) is down 25 cents at 6.82, but off a day low of 6.70, after Q2 earnings missed analyst expectations.

Net income for the miner and energy producer in the quarter fell to $15.7 million, or 5 cents a share, down from $24.4 million, or 8 cents in the previous corresponding period. Excluding an unrealized after-tax foreign exchange loss and an adjustment for future income tax expenses, earnings were $52.9 million, or 18 cents a share.

Analysts, on average, had expected earnings of 23 cents a share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S/.
