Sector Update: Technology Shares Flat Pre-Market; OmniVision Surges 10% on Northland Capital Upgrade to Outperform

Technology shares were generally flat in pre-market trade Friday.

In technology stocks news, semiconductor company OmniVision Technologies, Inc. ( OVTI ) has been upgraded by analysts at Northland Capital to an outperform rating from market perform.

The firm also boosted its price target on the stock by one-third to $28 from $21 a share.

In today's pre-market activity, shares of OVTI have surged 10% to $22.10, and have a 52-week frame of $13.55 - $20.48.

And, Superconductor Technologies Inc. ( SCON ), which develops and produces high temperature superconducting materials and associated technologies, said it bought a minority stake of 700,000 shares in Resonant's ( RESN ) recent IPO.

Resonant closed its offering of 2.7 million shares on May 29. The stock surged 52% to $9.10 in its market debut.

SCON is unchanged pre-market and closed at $2.77 on Thursday with a 52-week range of $1.42 - $3.93.
