Technology shares are mixed in pre-bell trading. Canadian Solar Inc. ( CSIQ ) shares are up 3.3% at $14.58 as it says its Canadian Solar Solutions unit has agreed to sell five utility-scale solar power plants to a Concord Pacific affiliate in a transaction worth $277 million.
Under the agreement, the plants, located in Chesterville, Pefferlaw, Springwater, Sudbury and Wyebridge, Ontario, Canada, are expected to start construction during 2013 and 2014 with commercial operation expected in 2014. The shares are trading in a 52-week range of $1.95 - $15.10.
Nam Tai Electronics, Inc. ( NTE ) reported second quarter 2013 net loss of $32 million, or $0.71 per share, on revenues of $167.9 million. In the comparable period last year, the company reported a net income of $9 million, or $0.21 per share, on revenues of $102 million.
NTE closed 2% higher at $7.45 on Friday, within a 52-week range of $5.55 - $16.37.
