Technology shares were generally higher in pre-market trade Thursday.
In technology stocks news, Ciena ( CIEN ) shares rose in Thursday's pre-market session, after the communications-networking company reported fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings above analysts' expectations on a 10% jump in revenue that also topped Street estimates and forecast Q3 revenue mostly above the consensus view.
CIEN was up 13% at $21.50 in recent pre-market trading , in a 52-week range of $16.21 to $27.93.
And, Agilent Technologies ( A ) late Wednesday adjusted its Q2 2014 GAAP net income, saying it was $139 million, or $0.41 per share, a change from Q2 GAAP net income of $150 million, or $0.45 per share, previously announced May 14, 2014.
The change was made as a result of an out-of-period adjustment for tax expense. There have been no changes to the second-quarter 2014 non-GAAP net income of $244 million, or $0.72 per share, previously announced by the company May 14.
