Technology shares were generally lower in pre-market trade Friday.
In technology stocks news, Sohu.com ( SOHU ) nudged slightly higher in recent pre-market trading on Monday after reporting better-than-expected earnings for Q2 ended June 30, with revenues climbing 18% from last year to record levels.
And, Roper Industries ( ROP ), whose products include radio frequency devices, services and application software, said Q2 earnings and revenue rose and raised its full-year EPS guidance, but the Q3 outlook was below analysts' expectations.
Second quarter diluted earnings per share came in at $1.56, a 41% increase over the same period last year.
Finally, Monotype Imaging ( TYPE ) reported Q2 earnings and sales that were in line with analysts' estimates.
The provider of typefaces, technology and expertise for creative applications and consumer devices said non-GAAP earnings rose to $0.27 per share from $0.26 the year earlier, while sales rose 9% to $45 million. Both were in line with the average estimates from analysts polled by Capital IQ.
