Energy shares traded generally flat in pre-market trade Tuesday as crude oil futures were lower.
Light, sweet crude oil for July delivery was down 0.01% at $102.46 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was down 0.32% at $2.87 per gallon while natural gas was up 0.35% at $4.63 per million British thermal units.
In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was flat at $37.53. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was up 0.71% at $25.70.
In other energy news, Magellan Petroleum Corporation ( MPET ) said it has plans for two exploration wells to be drilled during 2014 within the Company's license areas in the UK.
The company's partner Angus Energy has plans to spud in July 2014 an exploration well on the Horse Hill prospect located within the Petroleum Exploration and Development License 137 area.
