Sector Update: Info Tech; OpenText Trading Grid Platform Used in Hong Kong to Provide Cloud Access, CounterPath Provides Update on Share Buyback

Macdonald Dettwiler & Associates (MDA.TO): +0.2%

In corporate news, OpenText Thursday said its Trading Grid platform powers Hong Kong's EDI platform, ezTRADE, providing the region's enterprises access to cloud technology to execute any-to-any transactions on a global scale. Trading Grid is an addition to the company's Information Exchange portfolio.

Also, CounterPath said that as of August 19, it has purchased for cancellation 78,900 common shares at an average purchase price of C$1.31 per share under its current normal course issuer bid and a total of 361,858 shares at C$1.67 each under all bids. The company plans to continue purchasing its common shares under the plan using the facilities of the TSX.
