Sector Update: Info Tech; MDA, Pure Technologies Awarded New Work

In corporate news, MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates has received a follow-on contract for $6.6 million from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) for NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission. The total contract value to-date is $25 million.
MDA will build a laser-based instrument that will be used for the six-month task of mapping the surface of the 500 metre diameter asteroid called Bennu, creating a high resolution 3D model of its surface.
Meanwhile, Pure Technologies Wednesday after hours reported that its Pure Inspection Technologies subsidiary has been awarded new work valued at $5 million in Cutzamala, Mexico.
Under the agreement, the company will supply, install, and commission its proprietary SoundPrint Acoustic Fiber-Optic monitoring system on a portion of a major water pipeline delivering drinking water to over 5 million people in Mexico City.
