In corporate news, Ritchie Bros. Monday said it has sold more than C$104 million (US$95 million) of heavy equipment and trucks in its recently held auction in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. The industrial auctioneer said the auction set a new one-day sales record for the company.
More than 3,500 of the bidders participated online and purchased more than C$42 million (US$39 million) of equipment.
Meanwhile, WestJet has launched its first scheduled transatlantic service between Toronto and Dublin, Ireland, with a brief stop in St. John's, Newfoundland. The new service was first announced in November 2013.
