Sector Update: Industrials; Bombardier May Resume CSeries Tests, TransForce Unit Buys Veolia Assets

Industrial shares were generally higher in afternoon trading, with the S&P/TSX Industrials index gaining 0.8%.

In corporate news, Bloomberg reported Thursday that plane maker Bombardier may resume flight tests in the next few weeks for its troubled CSeries jet after a preliminary analysis of last month's engine failure found the fault to be minor.

Meanwhile, TransForce reported late Wednesday that its subsidiary has acquired majority of the assets of Veolia Solid Waste Canada for $25 million.

The company said Veolia generated annual revenues of more than $30.0 million and EBITDA of more than $5.0 million in the last 12 months.
