Healthcare stocks were slightly higher today with the NYSE Healthcare Sector Index climbing about 0.1% and shares of healthcare companies in the S&P 500 also adding about 0.1% as a group.
In company news, Amicus Therapeutics Inc. ( FOLD ) rose to a new 52-week high Wednesday after reporting positive 18-month data from a second Phase III trial of its oral small molecule chaperone migalastat HCl in patients with Fabry disease and amenable mutations.
Shares were up over 11% at $3.77 each in late trade, backing down from its new year-to-date high of $6.46 a share.
