Financial stocks were moderately higher Thursday with the NYSE Financial Sector Index climbing about 0.4% and the S&P Financial 100 Index also rising about 0.4% this afternoon.
In company news, Berkshire Hathaway Class A shares (BRK-A) were ahead about 0.9% in mid-day trade at $201,414.64 apiece, climbing above $200,000 for the first time ever in route to a new all-time high.
Shares of the financial and industrial conglomerate rose steadily throughout today's morning session, topping out at $201,775.00 each for a 1.1% advance, before easing into its current range. BRK-A shares have climbed about 15.3% over the past 12 months.
