Financial stocks were moderately higher Thursday with the NYSE Financial Sector Index climbing about 0.4% and the S&P Financial 100 Index also rising about 0.4% this afternoon.

In company news, Berkshire Hathaway Class A shares (BRK-A) were ahead about 0.9% in mid-day trade at $201,414.64 apiece, climbing above $200,000 for the first time ever in route to a new all-time high.

Shares of the financial and industrial conglomerate rose steadily throughout today's morning session, topping out at $201,775.00 each for a 1.1% advance, before easing into its current range. BRK-A shares have climbed about 15.3% over the past 12 months.

In other sector news,

(+) RMAX, (+4.8%) Q2 net income of $0.45 per share, beating Street view by $0.07. Revenue rises 7.9% year over year to $42.3 mln, largely in-line with $42.12 mln consensus. Sees 7% to 8% Q3 revenue growth over year-ago levels.

(-) FSFR, (-8.4%) Launches public offering of 22.8 mln shares of its common stock. Q2 EPS of $0.27 lags Street view by $0.01 per share.
