Top Financial Shares:
Financial shares were a bit higher in pre-market trading Wednesday, as retail-sales data for July revealed retail sales were up only a fraction from June. Investors were also awaiting scheduled remarks by two Federal Reserve officials.
William Lyon Homes ( WLH ) reported earnings of $0.38 per share on revenue of $179.8, both of which beat the Street views.
Ares Management ( ARES ) reported Q2 earnings of $0.33 per share and revenue of $131.6 million, which was up 47% from a year prior. ARES was steady at $17.99 in pre-market trading.
