Sector Update: Financial Financials

Financial shares were hesitant in pre-market trade Friday ahead of consumer sentiment data.

In financial stocks news, Citi ( C ) on Friday said it has agreed to sell its consumer banking business in Greece, which includes $600 million in GAAP assets, $1.4 billion in deposits and $540 million customer receivables. The sale also includes the bank's Diners Club of Greece SA credit card operations.

The bank said the move is part of its initiative to focus its Greek business on serving corporations, financial institutions, shipping, private bank and public sector clients. C shares were down slightly in pre-market.

And, RCS Capital ( RCAP ) has closed its previously announced acquisition of J.P. Turner & Company, an independent brokerage and investment banking firm, and its affiliated investment advisory company, J.P. Turner & Company Capital Management, both headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
