Financial shares were generally higher in pre-market trade Friday ahead of jobs data.
In financial stocks news, Bank of America ( BAC ) shares declined slightly in Friday's pre-market session, as a report by The Wall Street Journal said the banking giant is in talks to pay at least $12 billion to settle civil probes by the Justice Department and a number of states, citing people familiar with the negotiations.
BAC was down 0.5% at $15.35 in recent pre-market trading , in a 52-week range of $12.13 to $18.03.
And, AIG ( AIG ) said late Thursday that its board of directors approved the repurchase of additional shares, with an aggregate purchase price of up to $2 billion. As a result, the remaining shares left to be repurchased are valued at approximately $2.12 billion.
