Energy shares are trending higher in pre-market trading while crude oil futures are showing early upside with the January contract trading 20 cents below $100 a barrel. January crude futures are up $0.01 to $99.80 according to CME Group. Natural gas is down $0.01 to $3.62 per million British thermal units. In energy news, ADRs of Cairn Energy ( CRNCY ) are unchanged as the company said two wells it drilled in Greenland were in the process of being plugged and abandoned as uncommercial, Reuters reported. Cairn Energy ADRs are flat in pre-market trade and finished the previous session up 1.2%.
