Energy shares traded generally flat in pre-market trade Wednesday as crude oil futures were up slightly.
Light, sweet crude oil for July delivery was up 0.07% at $104.42 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was up 0.36% at $2.89 per gallon while natural gas was down 0.20% at $4.52 per million British thermal units.
In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was flat at $38.28. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was down 0.52% at $25.08.
In other energy news, Penn Virginia ( PVA ) said late Tuesday that it intends to offer 2.5 million depositary shares, each representing a 1/100th interest in a share of Series B convertible perpetual preferred stock with a liquidation preference of $10,000 per share. PVA also expects to grant the initial purchaser(s) of the depositary shares a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 375,000 depositary shares.
