Sector Update: Energy Shares Flat Pre-Market As Crude Oil Futures LIft

Energy shares traded flat in pre-market trade Wednesday as crude oil futures were higher.

Light, sweet crude oil for July delivery was up 0.29% at $106.67 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was up 0.30% at $3.03 per gallon while natural gas was up 0.74% at $4.74 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.41% at $39.15. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was up 0.9% at $26.27.

In other energy news, Valero Energy Partners LP ( VLP ) has approved the acquisition of the McKee Crude System, Three Rivers Crude System, and Wynnewood Products System from certain subsidiaries of Valero Energy Corp. ( VLO ).

VLP will pay $154 million for the acquisition. The drop-down transaction is expected to close on July 1 and be funded with the Partnership's cash on hand.
