Sector Update: Energy Shares Flat to Higher; Crude Dips

Energy shares are flat to higher in pre-market, while crude oil futures are slipping.

Light crude oil for December delivery is trading down $0.24 at $97.61 a barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil is up $0.01 at $2.92 a gallon while natural gas is down $0.07 at $3.63 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is down 0.11% at $35.28. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is down 0.43% at $18.50.

In other energy news, Furmanite ( FRM ) is up more than 7% at $11.60 pre-market, well past its previous 52-week high of $10.90. The company is the subject of a positive Barron's article over the weekend that anticipates a big upside for it. The article pointed out that Furmanite has little net debt and rising sales and income.
