Sector Update: Energy Shares Flat as Crude Drops

Energy shares were generally flat in pre-market trade Monday as crude oil futures fell.

Light, sweet crude oil for September delivery was down 0.77% at $97.32 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was down 0.38% at $2.87 per gallon while natural gas was up 1.16% at $4.01 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.77% at $35.94. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was down 0.09% at $21.90.

In other energy news, Forrest Oil Corp. ( FST ) reports a Q2 loss of $0.06 per share, compared to EPS of $0.06 per share year ago. Revenues declined to $60.4 million compared to $116.8 million a year ago. Analysts polled by Capital IQ were expecting to see a loss of $0.02 per share on revenues of $67.7 million.

Shares of FST were flat at $2 pre-market, trading in a 52-week range of $1.68 - $6.67.
