Energy shares are down in mid-day trading as crude oil futures switch gears and fall below $94 a barrel.
Light, sweet crude for September delivery is trading down 1.1% to $93.85 a barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil is down 0.3% to $3.08 a gallon while natural gas is down 1.03% to $4.14 per million British thermal units.
In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is down 1.75% to $36.55. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is down 1.09% at $10.47.
In mid-day news, Duke Energy ( DUK ) reports Q2 adjusted EPS of $0.33, down from $0.34 a year earlier but beating by 2 cents the Thomson Reuters mean analyst estimate for $0.31. Revenue rose to $3.5 billion. The Street expected $3.3 billion.
Duke Energy shares are down 0.16% to $18.67.
