Sector Update: Energy

Energy shares were generally flat in pre-market trade Thursday as crude oil futures were dipping.

Light, sweet crude oil for September delivery was down 0.60% at $92.89 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was down 0.61% at $2.81 per gallon while natural gas was up 1.52% at $3.88 British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.43% at $34.71. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was up 0.62% at $21.20.

In other energy news, CBD Energy Limited ( CBDE ), a diversified clean energy company and provider of solar systems, has, through its Australian Energy Efficiency subsidiary, Parmac, been awarded installation and maintenance contracts in Melbourne, Australia.

The total estimated value of the contracts is approximately $1.7 million. The projects are expected to be commissioned in September and to be completed in December, 2014.

Shares in CBD Energy were up 14.84% during Thursday morning's pre-market trading session at $3.25. Over the past 52 weeks, the company has traded between $2.16 and $14.84.
