Energy shares were flat in pre-market trade Monday as crude oil futures slipped.
Light, sweet crude oil for September delivery was down 0.66% at $101.42 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was down 0.74% at $2.90 per gallon while natural gas was down 0.16% at $3.78 per million British thermal units.
In other energy news, Alliance Resource Partners, L.P ( ARLP ) has reported Q2 EPS and total revenues that beat the Street view on increased coal sales volumes.
The company reported Q2 EPS of $1.37, up from $0.98 in Q2 2013 and surpassing analyst estimates of $1.00. Total revenues increased to $598.56 million for the quarter, up from $553.57 million in Q2 2013 and beating analyst projections of $574.31 million.
