Energy shares were fairly flat in pre-market trade Thursday, while crude oil futures were also slightly higher.
Light, sweet crude oil for March delivery was trading up $0.50 at $97.86 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was up $0.01 at $3.03 per gallon while natural gas was down $0.24 at $5.22 per million British thermal units.
In other energy news, Peabody Energy ( BTU ) reported Q4 revenue of $1.74 billion and earnings of $0.00 per share, whereas the Street expected revenue of $1.8 billion and a loss of $0.11 per share.
