Energy shares closed down although crude oil futures kept some positive territory, albeit still trading below $94 a barrel. In energy news, shares of Duke Energy, ( DUK ) were down after Duke-American Transmission Co., a joint venture of Duke Energy and American Transmission Co., acquired the Zephyr Power Transmission Project. Meanwhile, Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) shares were down as Bloomberg reports that the U.S. oil major appointed HSBC Holdings ( HBC ) to advise on a $5 billion elastomers project at Jubail in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East Economic Digest reported.
