Energy shares are mixed in pre-market trading while Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) shares are seeing early upside. January crude futures are up $0.45 to $100.94 a barrel, according to the CME Group. Natural gas is up $0.02 to $3.44 per million British thermal units. In energy shares, ADRs of Eni S.p.A ( E ) are down in pre-market trading while Bloomberg reports that the company expects to invest $50 billion developing natural gas off the coast of Mozambique. The company plans to begin producing fuel there by 2018. E shares are down 1.42%, or $0.62, to $42.95.
