Energy shares are down while crude oil futures are downshifting to trade under $101 a barrel. Light, sweet crude for January delivery - the most active contract - is down $0.52 to $100.76. Natural gas for January delivery is down $0.02 to $3.45 per million British thermal units. In energy company news, BP ( BP ) and Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A) are mixed while Bloomberg reports the two European oil giants are looking to resume exploration in Libya. The new government is looking to stabilize relationships with foreign companies following the overthrow of Muammar Qaddafi, the report said. BP ADRs are down 0.5%. RDS.A ADRs are up 0.3%.
