Energy shares are higher in mid-day trading while crude oil futures advanced nearly 1% to trade above $99 a barrel. Light, sweet crude oil for January delivery traded up 0.92% to $99.16 a barrel. In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is up 1.24% to $38.32. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is up 0.9% to $7.89. In mid-day energy news, shares of Schlumberger ( SLB ) are higher as the company said that shale-gas drilling in Poland costs nearly three times as much as in the U,S., according to a Bloomberg report.
