Energy shares are down in late-session trading as crude oil futures finished at their lowest level in about a year. Light, sweet crude oil for November delivery finished down 3.6% to $79.20 a barrel. In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is down 4.22% to $30.62. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is down 2.38% to $9.02. In late-session energy news, shares of Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) are down while Bloomberg reports that the oil major's Nigerian unit said gunmen attacked a vessel supplying on of its offshore oil platforms. Meanwhile, ADRs of Statol ( STO ) are higher as the company said there is significant upside potential in the Avaldsnes discovery in the North Sea, confirming an announcement from Avaldsnes operator Lundin Norway AS and giving another lift to the Norwegian North Sea.
